We find there are various types of websites that people have seen and would like to create for themselves we have listed some below.

  1. Academic site made up of research organised by topic.

  2. Interested user who wants to share his knowledge and invite others to contribute to their site.

  3. Businesses that want to promote themselves and follow up further information requests sent to them.

  4. Shop view products by type, add them to your order and fill in your details and send it off, usually through a second party vendor that does not match your site.

  5. Down-Load site like music, software, and freeware.

  6. Activities site things-to-do, activities or active learning with Q&A sessions.

  7. Person-to-person, Live Chat Rooms, Multi-User Dungeons, posting and reading messages on specialist sites.

When designing a web site we like to analyse and work out the various elements which might be one or more of the list.

These are incorporated into your site and follow your corporate scheme throughout.

This may include messageboards and shops.

These are never another providers system bolted on, which can feel like you have switched to another site or been moved into another unrelated browser's window.
